  When Time Wore Linen: A Love Letter to the Retro Life. There are photographs that do more than preserve a moment. They open a door. A woman stands beneath a hard summer sun, dressed in white from shoulder to shoe. Behind her, a beach umbrella leans against the wind, folding chairs wait in the sand, and a small suitcase rests nearby as though someone has only just arrived or is about to leave. The photograph is black and white, yet somehow it contains more color than many pictures taken today. You can almost feel the warmth of the sand. You can imagine the smell of salt on the wind, the faint sweetness of suntan lotion, the sound of a distant transistor radio playing a song nobody has heard in years. And suddenly, without permission, you want to go back. Not simply to that beach. Not even to that particular decade. You want to return to a time when life seemed to have edges. When summer was summer. When evening arrived slowly. When waiting was an ordinary part of exist...
